Ian M Adelson is an award-winning American director, and former associate producer of the Apple TV+ series, DICKINSON. Adelson’s films have screened worldwide in festivals and streaming, while his music videos have garnered over 10 million views online. Most recently, his documentary short Another Life to Live was selected for the Oscar-qualifying San Francisco International Film Festival and Hollyshorts, as well as having won Best Documentary Short at the Bushwick Film Festival. His upcoming film The Untitled Performers Project, centered around the burlesque world in New York City, made its first advanced screenings in Manhattan over the summer, and will make its official premiere later this year. Adelson’s films predominantly focus on intimate character studies surrounding self-confrontation, and often incorporate a documentary style within narrative structure.
As a commercial director, Adelson has done campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands including Procter and Gamble, Ernst and Young, Boston Consulting Group, American Tire Distributors, the Swiss Consulate of New York, Genius Sports, and Aramco.
Adelson was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended the University of Michigan's film program before coming up through the ranks of production in New York City. He is a co-founder of the Brooklyn-based production company, Floor 1.
